// Why earphp Poker
Real Poker for Real Filipino Players
Poker has always had a strong following in the Philippines. Long before online platforms became mainstream, Filipinos were grinding cash games in private clubs across Makati and Quezon City, watching the World Series of Poker on cable, and following local legends who competed internationally. earphp was built to bring that same passion into a legitimate, secure digital space.
The earphp Poker room operates around the clock, with cash game tables running at every stake level from micro (₱5/₱10 blinds) all the way up to high-stakes rooms where serious players compete for six-figure pots. All balances are held in Philippine Peso, deposits take seconds via GCash or Maya, and the platform is fully accessible from any modern browser — no app download required.
earphp operates in compliance with applicable PAGCOR guidelines, and all poker games use a certified random number generator audited for fairness. Whether you're a seasoned regular from Cebu's card scene or a complete beginner learning the game for the first time, there's a table at earphp that fits your level.

Poker Variants at earphp
earphp doesn't limit you to one format. The poker room runs eight distinct variants covering everything from the classic Hold'em format most Filipinos know to fast-fold speed games and live-dealer tables.
Texas Hold'em
The king of poker formats and the one most Filipino players know. Two hole cards, five community cards, and the mission to build the best five-card hand. earphp runs No-Limit Hold'em tables at every stake level, 24 hours a day.
Omaha Hi
Four hole cards instead of two, but you must use exactly two from your hand and three from the board. Omaha creates bigger hands, bigger pots, and a more action-packed game than Hold'em. Popular among experienced players in Manila's underground card scene.
Fast-Fold Poker
Fold a bad hand and you're instantly moved to a new table with fresh cards. No more waiting through orbits when you're card-dead. earphp's Fast-Fold variant keeps the action constant — ideal for players who value volume and want to play more hands per hour.
Video Poker
A solo poker format against the machine. Draw five cards and swap any you don't want for a chance at Jacks or Better, Full House, or the rare Royal Flush. RTP typically exceeds 99% on optimal play. Great for beginners learning hand rankings.
Live Dealer Poker
Real dealers, real cards, streamed in high definition from earphp's live studio. Casino Hold'em and Three Card Poker are the main live formats — you play against the house rather than other players, making it a more relaxed introduction to live card play.
MTT Tournaments
Multi-table tournaments with guaranteed prize pools. Buy in for a fixed fee, start with equal chip stacks, and outlast the field to claim your share of the prize pool. earphp runs daily MTTs with guaranteed pots ranging from ₱50,000 to ₱2,000,000.

Poker Strategy Basics
You don't need to be Phil Ivey to enjoy earphp Poker. But knowing a few core concepts before sitting down will save you chips and help you understand what you're doing at the table.
Start with Strong Starting Hands
Beginners often play too many hands. In Texas Hold'em, premium hands like AA, KK, QQ, AK suited win money over time. Folding mediocre hands pre-flop is free — never feel bad about folding 7-2 offsuit.
Understand Position
Acting last in a betting round (being "in position") is a massive advantage. You see what your opponents do before deciding your action. Play more hands from the button and cutoff seats, tighter from early position.
Set a Clear Session Bankroll
Only sit down with money you're comfortable losing in that session. At earphp, micro-stakes tables start at ₱5/₱10 blinds — a ₱500 buy-in is enough to play dozens of hands without unnecessary pressure.
Don't Tilt — Take Breaks
Bad beats happen. When you're frustrated after losing a big pot, step away for a few minutes rather than immediately reloading and chasing losses. earphp's session timer tool can help you keep track of your playing time.
Use the Free Play Option
earphp offers play-money tables where you can practice at no cost before moving to real-money games. New players from Davao and Cebu who used free tables first reported significantly better first-session results — practice before putting real pesos on the line.
Quick Tip
- Keep your buy-in between 20–30x your planned stake (e.g., ₱1,000–₱1,500 for ₱5/₱10 tables).
- Never play poker with bill money, savings, or borrowed funds.
- Set a loss limit before each session and stick to it — walk away when you hit it.

Poker Terms Glossary
New to poker? Filipino players new to the game often encounter terms that look like jargon. Here's a plain-English breakdown of the most common poker terms you'll encounter at earphp tables.
These apply to Texas Hold'em and Omaha — the two variants most players at earphp start with. Once you know this vocabulary, reading the table and understanding bet sizing becomes much easier.
Blinds
Forced bets posted by the two players to the left of the dealer button before any cards are dealt. The small blind is half the big blind. They create initial action and a pot to fight for.
The Flop
The first three community cards dealt face-up after the initial betting round. One of the most important moments in a hand — the flop often determines whether your starting hand has connected with the board.
C-Bet (Continuation Bet)
A bet made by the pre-flop aggressor on the flop, continuing their story of having a strong hand. A standard strategic move you'll see constantly at earphp tables.
Check-Raise
Checking your option and then raising when an opponent bets. A powerful move that signals a very strong hand — or a well-timed bluff.
Pot Odds
The ratio of the current pot size to the cost of a call. Understanding pot odds helps you decide whether chasing a draw is mathematically profitable over time.
Rake
The small percentage earphp takes from cash game pots as the house fee — typically 2–5%, capped per hand. This is how the platform earns revenue; no rake is charged in tournaments (the buy-in fee covers it).
Satellite Tournament
A low-cost tournament where the prize is a ticket into a more expensive event rather than cash. earphp runs satellites into the Monthly Championship, letting you buy in for ₱500 and win a ₱5,000 seat.
Tilt
Playing emotionally after a bad beat — making irrational decisions because you're frustrated. Recognizing when you're on tilt and stepping away is one of the most valuable skills in poker.
